It was a relaxed social meeting this week, at the Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Geelong. The Fellowship committee had selected a delicious meal for us, and going by the noise level, everyone had a good time. Thanks to Pam and her committee.
My week started with the quarterly Group 9 and 10 Presidents meeting. Items discussed included:
Celebrations for the Foundation centenary
Child protection
Conference 2017 and the request for home hosting for visiting Rotarians
Ian Campbell spoke on the Ice Fight and requested help from other clubs
Ride the Bellarine. Mark April 9th in your diary. Our club has committed to volunteering on the day
RYDA – looking for a contact person from each club
Shine on Awards – hoping for contact person in each club to promote this
Our Open Garden Day
If you are interested in being involved with any of these activities, please let me know.
Our Open Garden Day is being well publicised, and there are plenty of people interested in coming along. The Rotary Club of Grovedale Waurn Ponds has bought $400 worth of tickets from us, and l thank them for this wonderful support. We still need more people on the roster to help on the day, and to donate food. Please contact David Sinclair for roster and Judy Dahlke for food ASAP.
It’s a committee meeting next Thursday. If you don’t know where you are meeting, contact your Director!
