Last week we had a great night at the Davidson Restaurant with the presentation night for our second ‘Chef for a Month’ presentation dinner for the year.  See the photo's in TWTWTW.
We had 12 students and their parents and teachers from 3 schools who again received certificates of completion for their efforts in learning about hospitality. They learned about:
  • Good Eating Habits
  • Hygiene and Food Handling
  • Allergy Awareness
  • Group Participation and Cooking
David Veal, their instructor from the award winning Bellbrae Harvest Restaurant could not be there on the night, but Mark Gyngell of the Gordon TAFE made the presentations to students from Ashby, Montpellier, and Belmont primary schools.  It was a good opportunity to also speak to the parents and teachers about what Rotary does, and to seek new members.

We also have been active with BBQ’s with the crew who did the BBQ at Karingal’s big day out appearing this week in the Advertiser,
and another BBQ last Sunday for the official opening of Uniting Care HQ at Grovedale.  Thanks to all the BBQ teams involved.
Note our  former Treasurer Doug Thomson is CEO of the organization.

Next week we are at the Yacht Club for our meeting and Marie Louise Prüsse will give her final presentation to the Club. Please wear some Danish RED and WHITE colours to help celebrate her time with us.’

If the bulletins seem a bit short these days, it's becasue I'm trying to find time to fit in the Blue Book and Annual Report.
Last week was the Chef For A Month second iteration - and the students were just as keen as the first lot.
Aside from that, there have been barbecues galore and lots going on preparing for the changeover of the Board and other administrative matters.
Enough from me, here are some photo's.

Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slowdown in the performance of the flower and jewelry applications that had operated flawlessly under the Boyfriend 5.0 system.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.9, and installed undesirable programs such as NFL 7.4, NBA 3.2 and NHL 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 also no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate

My Dad and I were talking the other night about love and marriage. He told me that he knew as early as their wedding what marriage to my Mom would be like.
The way he tells it, the minister asked my Mom, "Do you take this man to be your husband." And she said, "I do."
Then the minister asked my Dad, "Do you take this woman to be your wife," and my Mom said, "He does."

A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same sleeping carriage of a train.
After the initial embarrassment, they both manage to get to sleep, the woman on the top bunk, the man on the lower.
In the middle of the night the woman leans over and says, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm awfully cold and I was wondering if you could possibly pass me another blanket." The man leans out and with a glint in his eye said "I've got a better idea, let's pretend we're married."
"Why not," giggles the woman.
"Good," he replies. "Get your own blanket."

A guy is reading his paper when his wife walks up behind him and smacks him on the back of the head with a frying pan.
He asks, "What was that for?"
She says, "I found a piece of paper in your pocket with Betty Sue written on it."
He says, "Jeez, honey, remember last week when I went to the track? Betty Sue was the name of the horse I went there to bet on."
She shrugs and walks away.
Three days later he is reading his paper when she walks up behind him and smacks him on the back of the head again with the frying pan.
He asks, "What was that for?"
She answers, "Your horse called."
